Belize June 2022
Hello from Belize! We are half way through our June 2022 experience and just now taking a deep breath to pause and update this blog…we are all grateful to back in the villages reconnecting with old friends and seeing familiar faces. We have been building a new playground in San Lucas and making repairs to the one in Corazon. The schools in both of these villages have been so welcoming as we teach math, phonics, and reading skills. Our support has extended with flip flops, supplies, books, and a myriad of resources for their teachers to continue to use as their students learn and grow. In addition, we were able to donate sewing machines to women in Conejo Creek as we support them in mastering the craft of sewing. We have visited several family’s homes that we have worked with in the past to celebrate graduations, confirmations, new babies, as well as other accomplishments. The donations and support from the All Saints community has not gone unnoticed. Thanks to everyone, we have helped overcome the setbacks these villages faced due to the pandemic. Father Joe has celebrated mass twice so far in communities that otherwise would not have had a priest. We are thankful for our community, God, and each other as we finish out this trip and make more connections while celebrating more successes. We can’t wait to update you all on the amazing things being accomplished here. As Thomas Goodwin once said, “The sweetest blessings are won with prayer and worn with thanks.” So blessings and Bantiox to you all! To be continued… 🤞🏻
