Back home and already missing Belize…THANKS FOR SUPPORTING OUR WORK!
While our families here in the states played in over a foot of snow earlier this month, our Barefoot Children mission team of twenty-seven volunteers visited three of our favorite beautiful rain forest villages in Belize! Our construction crew was overcome with emotion as children jumped for joy when slides and swings were attached to their brand new playground. We delivered much-needed medical supplies to health posts in four villages and the hospital in Punta Gorda, planned upcoming clean water projects in two villages, delivered school supplies, health items, flip flops, and school supplies to three schools and presented AWESOME lessons in several subjects, provided health workshops for women, met with thirteen of “our” high school scholarship recipients and their parents, visited seven widows supported by the Binny Fund, provided a day program for the elderly and helped some learn to write their names for the first time, witnessed the joy of friends who could finally see when we gave them eyeglasses, and delivered 270 fruit and shade tree seedlings to eighty-five families! Thanks to everyone who supported our efforts with donations, encouragement, and prayers!
